On November 20, 2025, our Program Director, Rebekah Morrisson, was recognized by the Asheville Chamber of Commerce as a nominee for the WomanUP Awards. She was nominated in the Nonprofit Leadership category for her outstanding leadership of SAWS in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. In the wake of the storm, Rebekah immediately mobilized field crews to address damage in our local communities then transitioned them to remote backcountry areas, secured vital recovery funding, a
