On Citico Creek- Part II
By Chris Robey When we brush, we work close to the water and use our creek voices to speak. The water’s voice is so loud you have to shout just to let someone know you’re bumping them by, and even then you’re never completely certain they heard you. On Citico Creek-Part I
By Chris Robey One privy ditch dug, one bear bag hung and after a long first day my crewmates and I rest now on the cobble-strewn bank of Citico Creek. Fallen mountain laurel blooms litter the bank on both sides of the creek--small, delicate, curiously geometric. Like little white and pink mandalas.
