SAWS is a leader in traditional tools and wilderness expertise. We have experts on staff willing to travel across the southeast to provide a variety of trainings and services to increase capacity in traditional tool use, improve awareness of wilderness character and values, provide education on Leave No Trace, and develop a variety of skills in trail maintenance and building such as stone splitting and shaping, new tread construction, switchback construction, site naturalization, and general drainage concepts. Crosscut Saw Certifications

Have saws, will travel.

SAWS is a certified cooperator in crosscut saw training for the U.S. Forest Service. We train and certify beginner through advanced techniques (A, B, and C certs) in axe and crosscut saw including the cutting process, complexity, underbucking, and more! Motorized tools are prohibited in federally designated wilderness, so come enjoy pulling on the end of a saw lumberjack style.

Crosscut Saw Sharpening

Is your saw dropping tiny noodles? No noodles at all? Did your favorite saw chip a tooth?

We got you.

SAWS can clean up and straighten saws, sharpen and set teeth, and in some cases weld broken teeth. We will deliver in Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. Join us for an afternoon to learn how to take your relationship with your tools to the next level. Our trainers will share how to maintain and sharpen tools, rehang and reinforce tool heads, and even how to make the best handle selections.
