Charles Merritt is an experienced marketer, strategist, & innovator and Co-Founder/CEO of Buddy, the industry-leading provider of on-demand, embedded insurance for the experience economy.
Early marketing roles at KAYAK and Jetsetter.com gave Charles an understanding of the relationship between strategy, creativity, and analysis in growing a startup and iterating on the feedback loops between users and product; knowledge he applied to a small portfolio of early stage companies, supported by the Martin Agency, while in grad school. While serving as CMO for a Fintech startup, he saw opportunities to apply the thinking and strategies of a nimble startup to the worlds of Fintech and Insurtech and the combined experiences, coupled with a love of technology and the strong desire to empower people to fearlessly live full lives, led him to assemble the team that has become Buddy.
Charles holds a B.A. from UNC Chapel Hill and a M.S. from the VCU Brandcenter. In 2013, he was on the Forbes Magazine 30 Under 30 list for marketing and advertising.
